BENNINGTON TOWNSHIP
Regular Board Meeting

October 6, 2014

The Bennington Township board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on October 6, 2014, 7:00pm at the Township Hall.

Present: Cindy Garber, Lee Ash, Nancy Zdunic, Donna Ash.

             Jim Forsythe arrived at 7:05pm. 

L. Ash moved to approve the agenda as printed. Second by Zdunic. Motion carried.

Zdunic moved to approve the minutes as printed for the September 8, 2014 regular board meeting. Second by Garber. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.

L. Ash moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as presented. Second by Zdunic. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.

(Jim Forsythe arrived)

Zdunic moved to approve payment of the bills as presented in the amount of $30,278.28. Second by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Public Comment:

Deputy Jason Duffield of the Sheriff’s Department encouraged everyone to vote yes on the millage proposal for the Sheriff’s Department.

Library- Humphrey- Minutes on file.

Plan Comm- D. Ash – Next meeting will be October 23, 2014.

Roads- L. Ash – Update

Unfinished Business: None 

New Business:

Paint Inside of Hall – Three bids were received. Forsythe moved to approve the bid from Jac Lytle at a cost of $1,100.00 to paint the main meeting room, hallway, and both bathrooms with one coat of paint. Second by Zdunic. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Refuse Service for Hall – Four bids were received. Garber moved to accept the bid from Granger Waste Services to provide refuse service for the Township Hall with one 4cuyd container picked up once a month at a cost of $28.00/month with additional pickups to be charged at the rate of $33.00. Second by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Wax Hall Floor – Zdunic moved to have Smith Janitorial Supply strip and wax the floors of the main meeting room, hallway, both bathrooms and the storage room at a cost of $758.00. Second by Garber. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Snow Plow – Zdunic moved to continue using Twin Oaks Mowing and Snowplowing L.L.C. for snow plowing at the Township Hall with a cost of $65.00 per snow plow, $95.00 per salting upon request, and $45.00 per hour for any additional plowing. Second by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Forsythe moved to adjourn. Second by L. Ash. Motion carried.
