The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on May 7, 2012, 7:00pm at the Township Hall.

Present: Jim Forsythe, Cindy Garber, Lee Ash, Nancy Zdunic, Donna Ash.

Forsythe moved to approve the agenda with additions of MTA updates, Cemetery, and the Roof. Second by Zdunic. Motion carried.

Forsythe moved to approve the minutes for the April 2, 2012 regular board meeting as printed. Second by Garber. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

L. Ash moved to approve the Treasurer's report as presented. Second by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Garber moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $23,568.90. Second by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Public Comment:

Frank Gregory questioned if there was anything the Township had to do in order to continue receiving State Revenue Sharing.

John Hurd questioned why the Township was considering the purchase of property and the installation of a driveway.

Board Reports:

Library- Ed Humphrey- Minutes for the March 28, 2012 and the April 25, 2012 are on file.

Plan Comm- D. Ash- The public hearing was held to update the Master Plan.  The Plan Comm approved the updates to the Master Plan with some corrections.

Roads- L. Ash- Update.

Web Page- Forsythe- Update.

MTA Updates- Zdunic- Reviewed what was discussed at the meeting.

Unfinished Business:

Driveway- Two revised bids were received, To install the driveway with gravel or crushed concrete: Smith Sand & Gravel, $6496.00 and Cordier Excavating, $7400.00. To install the driveway with asphalt millings: Smith Sand & Gravel, $7540.00 and Cordier Excavating, $8000.00. Bid was received for Greg Weinert's Tree Service for the removal of one tree and the trimming of eleven trees for $1350.00. Garber moved to accept the bid from Greg Weinert's Tree Service to remove one tree and trim the remaining eleven trees at a cost of $1350.00. Second by Zdunic. All board members in favor. Motion carried. D. Ash moved to accept the bid from Smith Sand & Gravel to install a driveway out to Brewer Road using crushed concrete at a cost of $6496.00. Second by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Forsythe moved to purchase a roll of landscape fabric, an 8" culvert and a driveway culvert at a cost not to exceed $1000.00. Second by Garber. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

SSESA Contract- A signed contract form SSESA has not been received yet.

New Business:

M.A.G.N.E.T.- A letter was received requesting a contribution. No action taken at this time as the board would like a representative to appear before the board for comment.

Cemetery- Zdunic requested that stones be purchased to place around the cemetery signs to form a flower bed. Zdunic will obtain additional prices and information.

Roof- L. Ash brought it to the attention of the board that the roof is appearing to need some work. Obtained two bids for roof replacement. Both bidders indicated that the roof would be good for another five year. No action taken at this time.

Forsythe moved to adjourn. Second by Zdunic. Motion carried.
