May 5, 2014
The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by
Supervisor Lee Ash on May 5, 2014, 7:00pm at the Township Hall.
Present: Jim Forsythe, Cindy Garber, Lee Ash, Nancy
Zdunic, Donna Ash
Forsythe moved to approve the agenda with subtraction
of web page report. Second by Zdunic. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to approve the minutes with typo
corrections. Second by Garber. All board members in favor. Motion
carried.
L. Ash moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as
presented. Second by Zdunic. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Zdunic moved to pay bills as presented in the amount
of $24,414.75. Second by Garber. All board members in favor. Motion
carried.

Unfinished Business:
Township Garbage Pickup – The board was updated on the
information received. Research into this will continue for next meeting.
New Business:
Cost Recovery – Fire Charges Ordinance - Owosso
Township presented an ordinance for cost recovery of fire expenses that
they wanted the Township to consider.
The ordinance will be reviewed again for next meeting.
Fireworks Permit – Forsythe moved to approve the
Permit for Fireworks Display for Ace Pyro, LLC for Lake Manitou on July
5, 2014 at 9:00pm to 11:30pm with a rain date of July 6, 2014 contingent
upon the filing of insurance information. Second by Zdunic. All board
members in favor. Motion carried.
L. Ash moved to approve the Permit for Fireworks Display for
William Nash – MPAG for Nash Nurseries on July 19, 2014 at 7:00pm to
12:00 midnight contingent upon the filing of insurance information.
Second by Garber. All board members in favor. Motion carried
Hardy- Jennings Drain Resolution – At the last meeting
Drain Commissioner Tony Newman presented the board with a resolution to
consider that would combine the Hardy and Jennings Drains together.
Garber moved to pass a resolution to combine the Hardy Drain and the
Jennings Drain into one Drain titled the Hardy-Jennings Drain. Second by
Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
MAGNET – Letter was received requested money from the
Township to help fund the MAGNET program. The Township will hold for a
representative from MAGNET to come to a meeting.
City Of Perry – Roundabout Resolution – The City of
Perry requested that the Township pass a resolution against the
roundabout scheduled to be placed in Perry. As of this meeting MDOT is
no longer considering Perry as a location for a roundabout.
Junk Day – Spring & Fall – consideration of having a
Township Junk Day twice a year. This will be held unto a decision has
been made regarding Township Garbage Pickup.
Zdunic moved to adjourn. Second by L. Ash. Motion carried.
