December 2, 2013
The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by
Supervisor Lee Ash on December 2, 2013, 7:00pm at the Township Hall.
Present: Jim Forsythe, Cindy Garber, Lee Ash, Nancy
Zdunic, Donna Ash.
Forsythe moved to approve the agenda as printed.
Second by L. Ash. Motion carried.
Zdunic moved to approve the minutes for the November
4, 2013 regular board meeting as printed. Second by Forsythe. All board
members in favor. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as
presented. Second by Zdunic. All board member in favor. Motion carried.
Zdunic moved to pay bills as presented in the amount
of $19,100.10. Second by Garber. All board members in favor. Motion
carried.
Public Comment: None
Board Reports:
Library- Humphrey- September 2013 and November 2013
minutes on file.
Plan Comm- D. Ash- Approved the meeting dates for 2014
as the last Thursday of month except for November and December which
will be the third Thursday with all meeting being held at 7:00pm.
Roads- L. Ash- Update. A road meeting is scheduled for
February 5, 2014 at 1:00pm at the Township Hall.
Web Page- Forsythe- Update.
Unfinished Business:
Hall Rental Penalty for Early Setup- L. Ash moved to
change the Hall Rental Rules and Regulations with adding “in advance” to
#2 and to correct some additional typos and to change the Hall Rental
Agreement by adding an additional line to check if they choose to
reserve the hall for decorating on the prior day. Second by Forsythe.
Motion carried.
2012 – 2013 Audit- Forsythe questioned the monies that
were uninsured and felt that this problem should be addressed. The
Treasurer will look into the ability to invest in additional
institutions such as a credit union. Forsythe also questions the SATA
fund being over budget. This was due to the audit being completed at
such a late date that the bill paid in August was accrued to the prior
year placing the fund over budget, this will be addressed in the current
budget.
New Business:
Junk Day- Zdunic has looked into the cost for a truck,
with Premier the cost is $740/truck. The tentative date for the Township
Junk Day is May 3, 2014.
Forsythe moved to adjourn. Second by L. Ash. Motion carried.
