BENNINGTON TOWNSHIP
Regular Board Meeting

April 1, 2024

 

 

The Bennington Township regular meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on April 1, 2024 at 7:00pm at the Township Hall.

Present: Jim Forsythe, Matt Dutcher, Lee Ash, Cody Baker, Donna Ash.

Forsythe moved to approve the agenda as printed. Second by Baker. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to approve the minutes for the March 3, 2024 regular meeting as printed. Second by Dutcher. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to approve the minutes for the March e, 2024 budget hearing as printed. Second by Baker. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
L. Ash moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as presented. Second by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $17,913.89. Second by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Public comment:
County Comm Garber – Update on county activities.

Board Reports:
Library – Garber – Update
Plan Comm – D. Ash- Master Plan update Goals and Objectives Chapter
Roads – L. Ash – Contract of 2024 are signed.

Old Business:
SSESA Contract – Forsythe moved to accept the contract from SSESA for Fire and Ambulance coverage as printed and authorize Supervisor and Clerk to sign. Second by Baker. All board members in favor. Motion carried. (Complete contract wording available at Township Hall)
Fire Millage – Forsythe moved to approve the Ballot Proposal wording for Fire Department Services and Protection renewal as printed, at up to two mills each year for ten years starting 2024, and place on the August 6, 2024 election ballot. Second by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried. (Complete ballot wording available at Township Hall.)

New Business:
Hall Roof – Discussion to obtain bids for steel roofing on the Township Hall.
Hall Furniture – Discussion to look into new office furniture for the Assessor.
Park – Discussion to continue work on the Township Park with placing benches, fixing washouts, signage, and trees.  Baker moved to place trees in the Township Park at a cost not to exceed $10,000. Second by L. Ash.  All board members in favor. Motion carried.
2023 -2024 Budget Changes – None at this time

Forsythe moved to adjourn. Second by L. Ash. Motion carried.
