BENNINGTON TOWNSHIP
Regular Board Meeting

June 7, 2021

 

The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on June 7, 2021, 7:00pm, at the Township Hall.
Present: Jim Forsythe, Matt Dutcher, Lee Ash, Cody Baker, Donna Ash.

Forsythe moved to approve the agenda as printed. Second by Baker. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to approve the minutes for the May 3, 2012 regular board meeting as printed. Second by Dutcher. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as presented. Second by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Dutcher moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $33,415.75. Second by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Public Comment:
Christine Hartges– Asked about road signs in reference to Manitou Lake. The board referred her to the Shiawassee County Road Commission. 
Co Comm Garber – Updated the board on county activity.
Sheriff Brian BeGole – Updated the board on activity at the Sheriff’s Department. Also, presented the board with a proposal for additional patrol within Bennington Township on M-52. 

Board Reports:
Library – Garber – Gave a report and indicated that the millage was up for renewal next year.
Plan Comm – D. Ash – Recommended three items of business for approval.

Roads – L. Ash – All gravel and paving projects are complete.  Concerns were made over the first application of mineral well brine.

Old Business:
Property Resale – L. Ash moved to delay the sale of the newly purchased house on Brewer Road until which time a survey can be completed and the house listed along with the out building. Second by Dutcher. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

New Business: None

L. Ash moved to adjourn. Second by Forsythe. Motion carried.
