July 6, 2015
The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on July 6, 2015, 7:00 pm, at the Township Hall.
Present: Cindy Garber, Lee Ash, Nancy Zdunic, Donna Ash.
Not Present: Jim Forsythe
L. Ash moved to approve the agenda with additions. Second by Zdunic. Motion carried.
Zdunic moved to approve the minutes for June 1, 2015 regular board meeting as printed. Second by Garber. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.
L. Ash moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as presented. Second by Zdunic. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.
Garber moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $34,348.82. Second by L. Ash. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.
Public Comment:
John Hurd – Questioned if the Township paid for the lines to be drawn on the State Highways, M-52, because they painted the lines on a Sunday and probably were paid triple time. (The Township does not pay for State Highways.)
Frank Gregory – Indicated that the minutes should reflect the number of bids that were requested not just those received.
Jeff Bartz – County Comm – Working on determining the millage amount for the 20 year millage request.
Guy Hubbard – SSESA Fire Chief – Reviewed the new ISO ratings. The area covered by SSESA in the Township is now a 5-y.
Board Reports:
Plan Comm- D. Ash- No new business.
Roads- L. Ash – Gradall is currently being used. Chip & seal and gravel are to be done soon.
Unfinished Business: None
New Business:
SATA Commitment – L. Ash moved to commit to SATA for October 1, 2015 – September 30, 2016 for a cost not to exceed $14,779.38. Second by Garber. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.
Web Site Renewal – Garber moved to renew the Web Site for one year. Second by Zdunic. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.
Cemetery Signs – Prices from Edwards Signs, signs like
the current ones are $117/sign. White metal signs are $283/sign. Will
look into some additional information.
Hall Rental – Request to use the hall for auctions, four days in a row,
possible twice a month. Request was from a non-resident. The hall is
only available to rent for residents of the Township.
L. Ash moved to adjourn. Second by Garber. Motion carried.
