The
Bennington Township Regular Board Meeting was called to order by Supervisor
Lee Ash on April 4, 2011, 7:00pm, at the Township Hall.
Present: Jim Forsythe, Cindy Garber, Lee Ash, Nancy Zdunic,
Donna Ash.
L. Ash moved to approve the agenda with additions. Second by Garber. Motion
carried.
L. Ash moved to approve the minutes for the March 7, 2011 regular board
meeting with corrections and the March 18, 2011 special board meeting as
printed and the March 30, 2011 special board meeting as printed. Second by
Garber. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
D. Ash moved to approve the Treasurer's report as presented. Second by L.
Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Zdunic moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $16,918.64. Second
by Garber. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Public Comments:
Drain Comm. Tony Newman- Gave an
update on the activities of the County Drain Office.
Frank Gregory- Commented that at the March 7, 2011 meeting there was public
comment regarding the roads and it was not in the minutes. Clerk D. Ash
stated there was only comments directed to the Road Commission regarding
roads there was no comments made during the Public Comment time. Gregory
also commented that the chip seal on Friegel Road was beginning to fall
apart, and that the township hall was in need of painting, and that a family
member had need to use SSESA and was very pleased with the service.
Board Reports:
Library-E. Humphrey- Minutes on file.
Plan Comm- D. Ash- Reviewed four text amendments to the County Zoning
Ordinance.

Roads- L. Ash- Stated he had received one Friegel Rd. complaint. Received a
letter from the Road Comm regarding a meeting on April 19,2011,7:00 to
discuss the new chip seal options.
Web Page- Forsythe - Update.
SSESA- G. Hubbard- Update- 17%-20% increase in Blue Cross Premium.
Unfinished Business:
SSESA Contract - Still waiting for a signed contract.
M.A.G.N.E.T.- No action taken.
New
Business:
Audit Contract- Garber moved to accept the contract from Demis & Wenzlick to perform the audit for the township for 2011, 2012, 2013 at a cost of $4,400.00 per year. Second by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Munroe Enterprise- L. Ash moved
to accept the letter from Munroe Enterprise to extend lawn care service for
the township cemeteries for 2011 at a cost of $300.00 per mow and $800.00
for spring clean up. Second by Zdunic. All board members in favor. Motion
carried.
Farmers Market- There will be a meeting regarding the Bennington Farmers Market for all interested on April 18, 2011, 7:00pm at the Township Hall.
Mineral Brine -Forsythe moved to
accept the contract from the County Road Comm for mineral well brine at a
total cost of $11,390.00. Second by Zdunic. All board members in favor.
Motion carried.
MS Bike Tour- The National
Multiple Sclerosis Society will be conducting a bike tour on July 16 and 17,
2011 that will have a route that includes Bennington
Township.
MTA Meeting April 5, 7:00pm.
Reminder: The Township Junk Day
will be held on May 7,
2011
from 8:00am to 12:00 noon.
